A partnership-based Work Visa lets you live and work in New Zealand for the same time as your partner’s Student Visa.

If your partner has a Student Visa, or is applying for one, they can help you get either a Visitor Visa or a Work Visa.
To qualify for a Work Visa as the partner of a student, your partner’s course must be at the right level — either a Level 9 or Level 10 qualification, or a Level 7 or 8 qualification that’s listed on New Zealand’s Green List of occupations. Your partner may also be able to support dependent children.

To be eligible for a partnership-based Student Visa, you must be living together in a genuine, stable relationship as defined by immigration rules. You also need to meet health, character, funds requirements, and your partner must agree to support your application.
